Iowa Falls and Alden school districts are planning on utilizing the hybrid method for the upcoming school year.
Starting in the fall, half of the student population will attend in-person learning two days a week and the other half will attend the other two days, KIFG reported. But the school districts haven't released much more information on the school year.
Superintendent Tony Neumann was planning on releasing the school plan later, but decided parents should know the plan as soon as possible.
“We thought it was more important for parents to know what day their kid is coming to school,” he told KIFG. “We just want to give parents as much notice as possible.”
The information released said Mondays will be for teacher inservice. Tuesdays and Wednesday will be for one half of the student body, while Thursdays and Fridays will be for the other half. Students will be divided by their last names.
The plan will also have siblings on the same schedule to help parents with the transition, KIFG reported.
“There’s so many more things to teach that we thought it would be best to do that with half the audience,” Neumann told KIFG. “After a five-month layoff you’re not going to come to school for five days right away. We wanted to ease up on how we come back.”
