Iowa DOT Proposes Highway 146 Changes

At the February 6th city council meeting Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) staff presented a proposal to change a portion of Highway 146 in Grinnell from four lanes to three lanes. The reduction in lanes would be between approximately the Hy-Vee location and Highway 6. One lane would be provided in each direction with a continuous left turn lane down the center. The change, if enacted, would take place as part of the already-planned resurfacing of Highway 146 by the DOT from Interstate 80 to Highway 6 in 2025.
