Census Bureau: More women than men in Brooklyn in 2020

Of the 1,677 people living in Brooklyn in 2020, 50.9 percent (854) were women and 49.1 percent (823) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the East Central Iowa News.

Males 18 and over outnumbered females in the same age group by 148. In the 65 and over age range, there were 115 females and 118 males.

Data for this story was compiled from the bureau's American Community Survey. Information from the survey helps to determine how federal and state funds are distributed.
