Poweshiek County had unemployment rate of 5.5% in 2021

Poweshiek County recorded an unemployment rate of 5.5% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 532 people out of the 18,628 living in Poweshiek County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Poweshiek County has increased compared to the 5% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Poweshiek County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 3.9%.

Everyone who had a job at the time belonged to the civilian labor force.
