Of the 12,336 people living in Grundy County, Iowa in 2021, 50.4% (6,215) were women and 49.6% (6,121) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by East Central Iowa News.

Data showed the average age for both genders in Grundy County in 2021 was 42 years, higher than the national average of 40.

According to census data, despite women being more prevalent in Grundy County during 2021, men aged 18 and over outnumbered women in the same age group by 192. Meanwhile, in the 65 and over group, there were 1,144 men and 1,379 women.
