Bill LaTour (above) will begin his new role at DMACC on April 10
- LaTour will plan, direct, coordinate and oversee operations activities at all DMACC Campuses and Centers.
- LaTour will also oversee DMACC Energy/Management/Security and Trail Point Aquatics and Wellness.
- LaTour joins DMACC after serving as Dean of Operations at John Wood Community College in Quincy, Ill.
LaTour will help plan, direct, coordinate and oversee operations activities at all DMACC Campuses and Centers, including College-wide facility planning and management of building and facility construction. DMACC currently has 2.3 million square-feet across 62 buildings that are set on six campuses and seven learning centers throughout Central Iowa.
“Bill was an outstanding candidate," said DMACC President Rob Denson. “He has extensive experience in many areas related to DMACC's operation, including campus and facilities coordination, information technology, energy management and security.
"Bill will be a strong addition to DMACC's management team."
LaTour will also work to ensure development and implementation of efficient operations and cost-effective systems for both current and future needs of the College.
LaTour currently serves as Dean of Operations at John Wood Community College in Quincy, Ill., where he serves on the President's Cabinet, Strategic Planning and Budget Team, and Leadership Council, and oversees Physical Plant, Information Technology, Campus Police Department and Risk Management. He has also taught First Year Experience and Homeland Security at John Wood Community College while serving as Dean of Operations. He has extensive experience in Campus Security.
LaTour earned a B.A. in Law Enforcement and Sociology from Western Illinois University and holds a master's degree in Human Relations and Business from Amberton University in Garland, Texas.
LaTour will be located in the Borgen Administration Building (Bldg. 22) on the DMACC Ankeny Campus and starts his new responsibilities April 10.
