CAR CRUISE IN ON 13TH STREET

Description

The 13th Street District will be hosting a free family friendly event featuring “Classic Cars, Timeless Tunes and Good Eats” on Thursday, Sept 8th from 5 pm to 7:30 pm. Classic cars will be lined up on 13th Street in front of Echo, located near Summit St. and 13th Street. After the show we ask cruise cars to do a loop around the Iowa Veterans Home! Join us to enjoy a variety of classic cars, listen to timeless tunes,and enjoy grilled burgers. 

Bring a lawn chair or a blanket to picnic on! Patrons will be able to enjoy a variety of classic cars, listen to timeless tunes, and enjoy grilled burgers. Patrons can grab a fresh grilled pork burger, chips, and a drink for $5. Bring your lawn chair or picnic blanket to enjoy supper while soaking in the summer weather, views of classic cars, and timeless tunes – an event reminiscent of the 1960’s in Marshalltown. All cruise cars and trucks are welcome to show off their rides in the 13th Street District. Cruisers should arrive between 4:30pm and 4:45pm from the north at Summit Rd or from State St. Cruisers arriving from Summit Street should park on the west side of 13th Street. Cruisers coming from the south should park on the east side of 13th Street. 

The 13th Street District is hosting this as a fundraising event to continue having family friendly events in the district. The mission of the organization is to increase community pride by hosting family friendly events and working with other organizations to enhance the area for the neighborhood. Imagine... A vibrant neighborhood, unique shops, cafes, entertainment and events... a village within our city. A place where the history of the past intertwines with the present and the future. A place where the spirit of our community really comes alive.
