Des Moines Area Community College recently issued the following announcement.
DMACC Provost Tony Paustian will be joined by WHO-TV Chief Meteorologist Ed Wilson and West Bank Chairman and CEO Dave Nelson as they announce an all-star lineup of speakers for the 13th anniversary presentation of Celebrate Innovation Live (ciLive! 13), Iowa’s version of famed South by Southwest SXSW® conference and festival. ciLive! serves as a platform for social, educational, economic development and cultural engagement.
WHAT:
Some of the highlighted speakers to be announced during the unveiling include:
- A Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Award-winning stunt actor
- An actor and technical consultant for the "Star Trek" franchise
- A world-famous cyber security expert and ethical hacker
- A conservation photographer and underwater journalist for National Geographic
- An editor of an “entrepreneur” magazine
- A host of the PBS series “NOVA Wonders”
- A glassblower featured on a Netflix series
- An American actor who has starred in numerous "Star Trek" shows
- A three-person "Future of Space" panel featuring leading space experts
- A Grammy-nominated singer and song-writer

The line-up of speakers will be announced during a special video premiere event, which will also be streamed LIVE and FREE online through the free e360TV app which can be downloaded to any streaming device.
WHY:
This year’s ciLive 13 theme, “Go Boldly,” focuses on achievements in science, business, media, exploration and more. It shows how a vision and persistence can lead to tremendous accomplishments.
ciLive! 13 will return to being held in-person this year on March 9-10, 2022 at DMACC’s West Des Moines Campus, 5959 Grand Avenue in West Des Moines. The event will also include free streaming of all speaker presentations on e360tv and Facebook LIVE.
