29.1 percent of Grinnell College students played sports on university teams in 2017-2018

In 2017-2018, 29.1 percent of Grinnell College students participated in collegiate sports, according to data made available by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES).

Grinnell College has a total student body of 1,716 students, of which 54 percent are women and 46 percent are men. Of these students, 289 men and 210 women represented the school by participating in one or more of the sports with teams at the school.

This total does not include students playing intramural sports.

According to NCES, 8.7 percent of students enrolled at institutions of higher education with sports teams were on teams.

The sports at Grinnell College with the most participants are swimming and diving (68), soccer (65) and track and field, indoor (62).
