57 percent of applicants to Buena Vista University were admitted for fall 2018

At Buena Vista University, 62 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 65 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Storm Lake enrolled 1,846 students in fall 2018, including 1,619 in undergraduate and 227 in graduate programs, data shows. 13 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

63 percent of undergraduates are residents of Iowa, and 35 percent are residents of other states. 2 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (74 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (5 percent).

The school admitted 57 percent of the 2,055 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 17 percent enrolled.
