Ellsworth Community College issued the following announcement on May 27.
Dale Howard Family Activity Center on Ellsworth Community College’s campus
As Governor Reynolds loosens restrictions and more facilities and services reopen, including fitness centers, many in the Iowa Falls community look forward to being able to utilize the Dale Howard Family Activity Center (DHFAC).
At this time, the DHFAC remains open as a rehab facility for Hansen Family Hospital’s physical therapy patients.
Iowa Falls community members aren’t the only ones who are eagerly awaiting for the Activity Center to reopen to the public.
New DHFAC Director and Head Panther Wrestling Coach, Tyson Springer, is also looking forward to that time. “First, I want to thank Ellsworth Community College for allowing me to be the next Director of the DHFAC. I can’t tell you how excited my family and I are to get moved up to Iowa Falls full time and to meet everyone that walks into the Activity Center once it opens back up.”
Springer, his wife, and their three children are coming to the Scenic City from Hastings, Nebraska. Springer officially began his duties at Ellsworth on May 1st and is working remotely, as are many of Iowa Valley Community College District employees during the pandemic.
When the facility reopens to the public, current members at the Dale Howard Family Activity Center can utilize the indoor walking and running track, workout with state-of-the-art circuit training equipment, treadmills, and fitness bikes, take up tennis or racketball on the indoor courts, and enjoy free WiFi in the Panther Den.
“I was able to tour the DHFAC and couldn’t believe how lucky we are here in Iowa Falls to have a facility like this to get a workout in and interact with each other on a daily basis,” Springer said of the facility.
If you are interested in a membership at the Dale Howard Family Activity Center, visit the DHFAC webpage.
