Ten Marshall County recipients have been notified by the state and are slated to receive grants from The Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) over the next month.

The IEDA is a $24 million campaign set up by the State of Iowa and Gov. Kim Reynolds' office, helping enable businesses awarded the grant to fill the loss of revenue due to the pandemic. According to the Small Business Relief page, priority went to those businesses that suffered a 75% or greater revenue loss and those that were forced to close first. These 10 grants are a combined $187,000 and will help the business maintain paying their bills.

“The state and economic development is doing a lot of the right things,” Aaron Buzbee owner of Fiddle and Whistle Pub and Zeno’s Pizza said, according to Times Republican. “We’re a 200-seat restaurant functioning as a carry-out pizzeria right now. This helps us stay current and allows us to keep people working.”

The 10 small businesses awarded in Marshall County include E & E Properties LLC, TC’s Riverside Pub, La Carreta Mexican Restaurant, Bobcat Academy LLC, Walk On LLC, Laurels Pour House LLC, Dandy-Lion Daycare, Lowe’s Flowers LLC, Marshalltown Pizza INC (Zeno’s) and Katie J’s Cakes and Catering. The Iowa Economic Development webpage provides the full list of awardees for the state.
